Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the SnackWhere website and app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
What SnackWhere is
SnackWhere is a community-built map of vending machines. Anyone can look at the map. People with an account can submit machines, write reviews, and use other features. We don’t own or run the machines listed, and we can’t promise that a machine is where the map says, is working, or is stocked.
Who can use it
- You must be at least 13 years old. SnackWhere is not meant for children under 13.
- Give accurate information when you sign up, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens on it.
What you post
“Content” means anything you add to the Service: machine listings, photos, reviews, names and profile pictures.
- You keep ownership of your content. You give us a free, worldwide permission to store it, show it in the Service and let others see it, for as long as it is on the Service.
- Verification photos you take when submitting a machine are private. Only you and we can see them, and we use them only to check the submission.
- You promise that you have the right to post what you post (for example, that you took the photos yourself).
What is not allowed
Do not post or do any of the following. This is what we mean by “objectionable” content and behaviour:
- Hateful, harassing, threatening or bullying content, or content that attacks people for who they are.
- Sexual content, nudity, graphic violence, or anything that is illegal or that endangers children.
- Spam, advertising unrelated to vending machines, fake or misleading listings, fake reviews, or reviews about something other than the machine.
- Other people’s private information (such as phone numbers or home addresses) or content that infringes someone’s rights.
- Photos that show people’s faces or other identifying details without their permission.
- Trying to break, overload or misuse the Service, scraping it at a scale that harms it, creating accounts automatically, or pretending to be someone else.
Reporting, blocking and moderation
- Report: in the app, tap the flag next to a review, or “Report this listing” on a machine, and choose a reason. We look at every report.
- Block: you can block a person from the same flag menu. Their reviews are then hidden from you. You can undo it in Settings.
- What we do: we can remove content, decline or remove listings, send a warning, suspend an account (for a time or for good), or remove an account that breaks these terms or the law. A suspended account can still browse the map. We may act without notice when needed to protect people or the Service.
Business accounts
Business accounts are checked before they can list machines directly. We can remove listings, icons or the verification of a business that gives false information or breaks these terms.
Supporter plans and payments
Supporter plans are not available yet. When they are, their price, billing and cancellation terms will be shown clearly before you buy and added here.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app (Settings, then Delete account) or by following the steps on our account deletion page. What is deleted and what is kept is explained in the Privacy Policy.
No warranty, and limits on liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, SnackWhere is not responsible for losses that come from using it, including a machine being missing, broken or out of stock, or for what other people post. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can’t be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. If the changes are significant we will say so in the app or on this site. Using the Service after a change means you accept it.
